Announcement of the IPFA Award 2022

Dr Micha Nübling awarded by IPFA

IPFA is delighted to announce that, during this year’s IPFA/PEI 28th International Workshop in Porto, Portugal the annual IPFA Award was presented by Stuart Chesneau, IPFA President. With this award, IPFA wants to recognise a person who has made exceptional contributions to the field of plasma collection, plasma fractionation, the manufacturing and provision of plasma derived medicinal products, patient care, safety and transfusion medicine.

The 2022 IPFA Award was presented to Dr Micha Nübling:
Dr Micha Nübling is Head of Division “Major Policy Issues and Coordination” at the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut, Langen, Germany.

Dr Micha Nübling has received the IPFA Award in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the field of blood safety.  This contribution has been through research, development and regulation of diagnostic testing methods for blood-borne pathogens to ensure the safety of blood and plasma derived medicinal products through his work at PEI, numerous working groups at European and National level and also through his wider role in WHO.
