The IPFA/PEI 18th International Workshop on Surveillance and screening of Blood Borne Pathogens - Dublin, Ireland

Leading scientific research and practical applications of the latest new developments were presented in the field of Surveillance and Screening of Blood Borne Viruses at the 18th IPFA/PEI Workshop, that took place 24-25 May 2011 in Dublin, Ireland. Hosted by the Irish Blood Transfusion Services, the meeting attracted over 200 international experts from a wide variety of stakeholders in the field of blood safety. The meeting confirmed its reputation for relevant and lively debate among speakers and participants. The meeting was attended by representatives of the international scientific community, regulatory agencies, test kits manufacturers, blood services and plasma fractionators. A unique summary session provided attendees an important ‘take home’ overview of the priority issues arising from the meeting.
