The International Plasma and Fractionation Association (IPFA
) and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion Vietnam (NIHBT
) are pleased to announce the IPFA 4th Asia Workshop on Plasma Quality and Supply. This workshop will build on the success of the meetings held in Taiwan in 2016, Indonesia in 2017 and Malaysia in 2018, which highlighted the importance of this topic for the region. Each of these meetings attracted around 200 delegates from 30 countries. The Workshop will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 March 2019 at the InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72.

A comprehensive range of topics
This Workshop will identify and discuss key issues, strategies and opportunities to meet the increasing requirements for Plasma for Fractionation and essential plasma derived Medicinal Products in the Asia region. In collaboration with and hosted by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion Vietnam, a comprehensive range of topics will be addressed including:
Donor recruitment and selection
Screening and diagnostic programmes for blood-borne pathogens
GMP and quality management for plasma for fractionation
Plasma fractionation options
Clinical developments in the use of plasma derivatives
Product supply strategies to reduce dependency on imported products
The programme will maintain valuable and important elements of the previous Workshops, including open and inclusive discussion between all stakeholders. Each session of the programme will provide in-depth, up to date coverage by recognised experts, as well as educational content for those delegates new to the field.

The Workshop is being developed by internationally recognised experts and will be of interest to colleagues with an involvement in policies to secure the supply of plasma in the region to meet increasing patient needs for essential plasma derivatives; blood establishments, doctors and health care providers, patient and donor organisations, supporting industries, regulatory authorities, Health Ministries and Agencies and academia.
