Association news
At its Executive Board meeting in December 2025, the Taiwan Blood Services Foundation (TBSF) was officially approved and warmly welcomed as the newest member of IPFA. With TBSF’s addition, IPFA’s international community now includes 3 fractionators, 9 organizations engaged in plasma collection and supply, and 1 focused on plasma testing.

About Taiwan Blood Services Foundation
The Taiwan Blood Services Foundation (TBSF) is a non-profit organization, overseen by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, responsible for collecting, processing, and supplying blood and plasma nationwide. TBSF relies on voluntary, non-remunerated donors, and ensures its plasma meets the regulatory standards of both Taiwan’s TFDA and Australia’s TGA, as plasma-derived medicines are currently produced under contract in Australia.

Highlights from IPFA in 2025

With the addition of our new member from Asia, IPFA concluded 2025 as a year marked by significant activity across the region. We engaged in numerous meetings and organised two high-profile roundtable events, bringing together national representatives dedicated to improving access to plasma-derived medicinal products (PDMPs) from locally collected plasma.

Roundtable in Sri Lanka
Our first roundtable was organised in collaboration with the Asian Association of Transfusion Medicine (AATM) to support their National Blood Transfusion Service member organisation in Sri Lanka.

IPFA APAC Roundtable in Bangkok
The second roundtable, hosted in Bangkok, brought together delegates from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and the Philippines. Participants shared perspectives and discussed strategies and policies for securing access to plasma-derived medicinal products from national plasma supplies.
