News from IPFA

2 June 2022

During the first months of the year, IPFA has been very active in the European area. In March we arranged the successful joint Symposium with the European Blood Alliance (EBA) on Plasma Collection and Supply in Amsterdam. We participated in a meeting arranged by the PLUS patient association coalition and in a very interesting plasma conference arranged by CNS and partners in Rome.

In all these meetings, we have highlighted the need to increase the supply of plasma for fractionation in Europe, in order to achieve strategic independence in the supply of essential plasma derived products.

And there is more news to share. For example, about the Australia – TGA decision to remove deferral of donations due to UK travelling and risk for vCJD.

And news about South Africa – managing crises situations while maintaining supply of plasma medicines.
